This marmalade is super limited edition!
We sourced some kumquats from our good friend Hugo at Hugo's Greengrocer last month and set about making them into marmalade. Kumquats are small citrus fruits that are sweet & tart. Their peel is much thinner than most citrus fruits, meaning that you can eat the whole fruit.
When we started prepping them we discovered kumquats contain a lot of pips! It took the team all day to remove the pips and prep enough kumquats to make just 154 jars of Kumquat Marmalade. So this is the reason that you don't see this marmalade very often!
The finished marmalade is a deliciously delicate marmalade, with a flavour similar to a clementine. The thin peel is suspended in a lightly firm jelly.
Be quick, this marmalade won't be around for long! As Deb in our team said... "I could eat a whole jar in one go- can we keep it all ourselves please?!"
Each jam jar contains 225g. Be aware there may be a few pips that we left behind, it's completely handmade!
Sugar, Kumquats, Water, Natural Pectin, Lemon Juice. Prepared with 27g fruit per 100g, total sugars 54g per 100g
Our jams are made with a two year shelf life. Once opened keep refrigerated and enjoy within 4 weeks.

Kumquat Marmalade
It's everything I wanted a grapefruit jam to be - but better. It has a slight bitterness (as it should) but not overpowering. If anything, the jam is a little too sweet for me (as are most SV jams), and yet, i fell in love.
Imagine eating a kumquat soaked in sugar syrup, and this is what you'd get. Magnificent, and perfect for a winter treat!
Great packaging and the contents was delicious
Great flavour consistency and makes a change from normal marmalade
Nicola founded Single Variety Co from her kitchen table with the aim of creating a range of seriously delicious fruit preserves and chilli jams. She carefully selected the finest ingredients, British where possible, and packed each jar full of as much fruit as possible with much less sugar than traditional jams. These aims remain the same today in our little jam factory in Bristol - as if Nicola had made them from home! Which is why we work closely with our local suppliers and take great pride in delivering to you the very best products we possibly can.
